I am acupuncturist and herbalist with a Master's degree in Oriental Medicine from the New England School of Acupuncture at MCPHS University and Diplomate of Acupuncture and Chinese Herbology from National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) .
I also hold a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California, and was a founder of an online educational website that provided interactive learning games in Math and reading skills for children. I always believed in natural medicine and in the body's inherent ability to heal itself, which is the reason I decided to study and practice acupuncture and herbal medicine.
What I find fascinating about the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is that I keep discovering how much this two thousand old medicine is actually quite contemporary. For example, modern medicine recognizes now connection between nervous system and immunity, gut and brain function, or connection between mental and physical health, but in the TCM, that had been always the case.
The TCM theory teaches how to identify the imbalances that cause illness, and treats not only the symptoms, but also the root of the problem.
In my clinic I treat a wide range of health conditions, but my special interests are in women's health (from menstrual pain and irregularities, fertility issues, pregnancy to menopause), chronic conditions and chronic pain, and autoimmune diseases.
My favorite quote is by a Taoist philosopher Lao-Tzu: "A journey of thousand miles begins with a single step". Even if recovery to health can be challenging, it is important to make that first step that will start us on the road to better health.
