COVID-19 Measures & Precautions
Acupuncturists are obliged to follow the standard CNT (Clean Needle Technique) procedures which protect both patient and practitioner against the most communicable diseases.
COVID-19 pandemic necessitates extra precautionary measures to be added to the existing standard protocol.
Great Road Acupuncture and Herbs LLC has implemented measures recommended by NCCAOM (National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine) to ensure safe acupuncture treatment both for the patient and the practitioner.

Office and Treatment Room:

Patients:
- Please contact us before your appointment if you are experiencing any of the following: fever, dry cough, flu-like aches and pains, severe sore throat.
- Inform us if you have traveled to high Covid-19 area or were in contact with person who was infected.
- Please wash your hands before entering the office.
- Please wear a mask:
- Before entering the office,
- During the health status intake,
- During the time the practitioner is doing the procedures (needles, cupping, moxa, EA, gua sha).
Practitioner:
- Practitioner will wear a lab coat which will be changed for each patient.
- Practitioner will wear a mask during the treatment and whenever in the room with the patient.
- Practitioner will wash hands before the treatment and sanitize hands (this is a standard procedure)
- Practitioner will explain the treatment to the patient while keeping 6 feet distance. Once the treatment starts, the conversation will be kept at the minimum.
Office and Treatment Room:
- All surfaces that patient is likely to touch when entering office and while settling in the treatment room will be sanitized.
- All surfaces that practitioner touches during the treatment will be sanitized.
- Only disposable paper sheets and pillow cases are used for the treatment table.
- The UV air purifier will be turned on during the working hours.
- The treatment room window will be opened to allow for fresh air between the appointments.
- Floor will be sanitized daily.
