QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
What to expect at your first appointment?
Your first appointment will be 90 minutes long. It will give us time to go through your health history, discuss your main complaint symptoms, do the exam which includes pulse and tongue analysis, and do 45 to 60 minute long treatment.
What to wear?
Please wear loose clothes, with sleeves and pants that can be rolled up to elbows and knees.
How will I know if acupuncture can help me?
It is impossible to know if any acupuncturist can help you without initial trial of treatments. Human body produces its own "pharmaceuticals" such as opioids, cortisol, epinephrine and many, many others, which are capable of fighting inflammation and pain. All acupuncture does is stimulate your body to utilize its own resources to heal.
Most of the time we need at least 3-6 treatments to see how your body reacts to acupuncture. If there is a relief after these initial set of treatments, we will evaluate how many additional treatments are needed.
The total number of treatments needed to resolve your particular condition will depend on factors such as how severe the condition is, how long you had it, your overall health, age, etc..
Office Policies
24-Hour Cancellation Policy
Please allow 24 hours advance notice for appointment changes or cancellations. Cancellations or changes made within 24 hours of the appointment will be charged a $50 late fee.
Late Arrivals
Because we feel that proper patient care requires the full amount of time allotted for visits, patients arriving more than 15 minutes late may need to reschedule and will be charged the late cancellation/rescheduling fee. If patients are late and the practitioner will be still able to see them, the treatment will be shortened to end at the allotted time so as not to infringe on other patient's appointments, but the patient will still be responsible for the full cost of the scheduled treatment.
No-Shows
Patients who do not show up for an appointment without calling to cancel or reschedule will be charged the full amount for their visit.
Payment
Payment in full is expected at time of service. We accept Master Card, Visa, American Express, Discover, personal checks and cash. For Community Acupuncture cash or personal checks are preferred.
